Welcome Back to the A-Z Home Decor Trend Guide 2014.I've been revealing the hottest home decor trends currently heating up the market, design blogs, and the internet and the home decor trend of the day starts with the letter R for...Reclaimed Wood! Reclaimed wood has been a huge trend in home decor for the last few years and it's popularity is not waning in any way.  The natural, rustic quality is very popular in industrial design, farmhouse, and cottage design styles...plus, it's an easy way to incorporate green decor into your home. I used a reclaimed wood shelf as a mantel for a client's fireplace makeover project last year as seen in this photos.  It looked really good against the stacked stone that we clad the face of the fireplace with.

Here are some photos of various home decor created from reclaimed wood to illustrate creative ways this trend can be incorporated in your home.

How about as a picture frame...

or as wall art...here is an entire wall clad in planks of reclaimed wood...pretty cool right? I really like the different color planks.

No room for a bar cart? How about a reclaimed wood wine rack that doesn't take up any precious floor space, but looks sharp hanging on your wall.

Here's a reclaimed wood clock.

This rustic looking trend is not really my personal aesthetic, but I must admit this reclaimed wood coffee table in a herringbone pattern is pretty killer!

And last but not least, I need to give a shout out to my friend Avelino who is a very talented artist that has been creating reclaimed wood art in various designs and started selling them at local venues in San Francisco.  They're such great statement pieces...
