Project: Tiny Master Bath Renovation
Location: San Jose, CA
Residents: Single Lady
Project Budget: about $8K
This is probably the tiniest master bathroom I’ve worked ever on. As you can see, the original vanity was only about 18″W with absolutely no counter space. The shower was small and narrow. Not much of a “master” anything so, we borrowed some space from the adjoining bath and widened the interior shower space which made a huge difference. We threw code requirements out the door and opted for a wider floating vanity so that we can maximize the storage capacity. We also built-in a medicine cabinet so it was recessed into the wall and the shampoo niche was built into the opposite side of the pony wall so it doesn’t break up the tile pattern on the tall shower wall. The result was a much more modern and useful room.
